Tanzania - Hippos in a lake: you hardly see anything of them.
If there is enough water you hardly see them.
Tanzania - hippos in a pond: now you can see quite a lot of them.

Tanzania - A hippopotamus turns on its own axis: head under water, feet up.

Tanzania - One hippopotamus squirts feces with its tail whirling, another sticks its nose almost directly into it.
Hippos like to mix their dung up in the water to have a nice hippo smell. The others don’t care if this happens in front of their nose.
Tanzania - A hippopotamus opens its huge mouth.

Tanzania - A group of zebras gallops past a water hole with hippos.
Hippos can’t understand why Zebras are so hectical.
Tanzania - A hippopotamus runs across the savannah.
Only once, early in the morning, we see a hippo out of the water. It was really impressive how fast, light footed and even elegant this animal was running.
