Detour to the waterfall “El Nicho”. Drive through jungle landscape. Trinidad – more museum than normal city – with all the associated advantages and disadvantages.

Trinidad

Camion, Cuba
As written, we almost always hired a driver with a car to get around Cuba. For the locals, the “camiones” are a completely normal form of transport, lorries whose loading areas have been converted for the transport of people. This one, with benches for everyone, is more or less the luxury version.

On the way to Trinidad we make a detour over the waterfall “El Nicho”.

Lots of fun and a bit of cooling off in the warm water.

Trinidad is the picture-perfect image of a colonial Latin American city. It’s like a museum. Of course, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of the few places in the country where tourists are carted by buses. Accordingly, everything is in the best condition. Accordingly, as a tourist, one is also hustled to buy something, to go to a certain accommodation … So pretty to look at, but not a place to stay longer, at least not for us.

Here are some pictures.
