Travelogue Cuba 2012 Cienfuegos
We continued on to Cienfuegos, which is known as the “Paris of Cuba” or the “Pearl of the South”. Yes, it is a beautiful city, but we were not really captivated by it.
Arrival in Cienfuegos in a particularly well maintained vintage car. Short city tour, this is Parque José Marti Cienfuegos. In the evening we visit the ballet – announcement with hand-painted poster. On the program is “Danza de Negros”. We had a nice evening. The next day we start with the Dolfinario de Cienfuegos. Yes, I know, one can be very divided about such facilities …. While the dolphin show is mostly attended by locals, the optional swim with dolphins is way too expensive for locals. Life jackets are mandatory, whether you want them or not, whether you need them or not. I only wear the goggles because otherwise I lose my contact lenses. Crowning achievement: Hooray! I’m Superman! Or not. Super are especially the dolphins, who manage to balance every non-athlete on their noses. short photo stop at Playa Rancho near Cienfuegos We spend the afternoon in the 94-hectare Jardín Botánico de Cienfuegos, which I strongly recommend to you. Even if I unfortunately have few great photos, the park is absolutely worth seeing. Back in Cienfuegos we visit the Palacio de Valle and enjoy the view over the bay from the café on the roof terrace. next travelogue
