Dambulla Cave Temple

The Dambulla Cave Temple is first of all just that, a temple in a cave. It is the largest cave temple in Sri Lanka and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The temple is located on a huge boulder at a height of 160 meters. So you have a great view from up there.

In the temples everything revolves around Buddha and his life. For the non-Buddhist, it is primarily a collection of reclining, seated and sometimes standing Buddha statues.
