Travelogue Sri Lanka 2010 Royal Botanical Gardens
Our second excursion from the Kandy Samadhi Center took us to the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya about five kilometers west of Kandy. The history of this wonderful garden dates back to 1371. A dream for all who love plants.
Giant Java Willow Tree: This tree is over 100 years old and covers an area of over 2500 m². I am sure you are familiar with this species, it is a Ficus benjamina. So think about it soon, if the pot of the plant at your home is not a little too small 😉My guess is that these are giant Indian flying foxes.
