We continued to Achill Island which is connected to the Irish main land by a short bridge.

coast at the west end of Achill Island
We used the rest of the day to drive along the coast to the west end of Achill Island. The scenery is wild and romantic but the wind is cold.

The next morning we left the island again and followed the coast line heading south.
