Only a couple of weeks after my trip to Vancouver another business trip braught me to Brazil and I had the opportunity to stay in Rio for the weekend. Here are a couple of photos.
The most impressing cloud I’ve ever seen. I am sure that there was an even more impressive thunder storm beneath it, but luckily I was not there.

Ipanema – One of the beaches of Rio
The Jesus statue on Corcovado, Rio de Janeiro. Maybe as famous as the Statue of Liberty.
If you visit Rio you have to visit the: Academicos de Salgueiro, a "Samba School". But don’t think it is a place for you to learn some Samba before you leave Brazil again. Salgueiro is one of the groups which form the famous procession of the Carnival of Rio. Off carnival season you can go there to watch a "rehearsal" which happens to be a show. And don’t forget to bring ear plugs, it is amazing how loud pure percussion can be. And a word to the ladies: Though the following two photos might give you the impression that the show is mainly interesting for men all the female tourists who went there did enjoy the show as much as the male ones did.
Beautiful people in beautiful dresses dancing to wild Samba
But I have to admit that also those parts of the beautiful people which were not covered by beautiful dresses are amazing.
