Travel pictures Ibiza 2007

My girlfriend Gabi and I probably had never have booked a flight to Ibiza. We were associating clubs, drugs and singles looking for sex (on the beach). But when our Tango teacher offered a seminar on Ibiza we decided to take a chance.

Our hotel was one of those typical package tour hotels. But the food and the rooms were fine and we had a nice place for our Tango rehearsals. So whenever we were not sleeping, eating or dancing we left the hotel and explored the island on a rented scooter. You can not drive in one direction for more than 30 kilometres so a scooter is the ideal vehicle. Though Ibiza is so small we did not manage to see all of it during the fortnight we spent there. There are lots of wonderful places and beaches though you have to avoid some really nasty package tour tourist places.

Here are a few of our best pictures:

I and our scooter Hexagon GT 250 the identical scooter I drive in Munich. What a coincidence! For Gabi and me the ideal Ibiza vehicle.

Mountains of Salt … excellent for taking a bath.
view of Es Vedrà, Ibiza
Two Islands south west of Ibiza. Don’t they look like a sleeping dragon? The people of Ibiza know a lot of scary tales about this place.

But with two such adorable ladies by my side (Isa to the left and Gabi to the right) it would have been hard to scare me …
beach Cala Xuclar, Ibiza
Our very private beach, Cala Xuclar, in the North of Ibiza. There is only a tiny bay and next to it there are rocks which we had for us alone.

The rocks at this part of the coast look volcanic to me. This is a very nice place to snorkel.

And finally we came to enjoy (or at least to visit curiously) a part of “the other” Ibiza. My friend Isa works at the Privilege, the biggest club in the world and organized two VIP tickets for Gabi and me. This was for us like a journey to another world. It was interesting to see such a club once, but partying there is definitely not our piece of cake.

The entrance of the Privilege. Yes, miracles happen … Gabi and Volker go to a club.
stage and show in the Privilege, Ibiza
I will be hard to find a stage in Munich which is as big as this one. They present elaborate shows at those parties.
