Travelogue Tanzania 2009
Programme Day 15 – Stop over in Amsterdam

We arrived in the morning in Amsterdam but had booked our flight from Amsterdam to Munich for the afternoon to have a little time there. It was a cold welcome back in Europe, it was cold and rainy, what a contrast after two weeks in Africa!

Amsterdam - a grey day
Even looking at this picture makes me feel cold again.
Amsterdam - Volker is looking forward to his English breakfast
A German coming from Tanzania eating an English breakfast with Italian coffee in the Netherlands.

This breakfast helped to feel warm again, but only for a short time. So we stopped again at wonderful Chocolaterie Pompadour (Huidenstraat 12).

Amsterdam - tartlet and hot chocolate at Chocolaterie Pompadour
Maybe the best tarte I ever ate (shortcrust, passion fruit creme, raspberries and caramelized almonds).

Gabi did a bit of shopping next to the chocolaterie in De Negen Straatjes (the nine streets, an area with many nice little shops) and then we strolled through Amsterdam for some more time.

Amsterdam - There is a big pillow fight going on in the street that makes the feathers fly.
A big pillow fight. That’s nice too.

The end of our trip – really rich two weeks!
