The Ocean

Standing beside the rail and watching the endless horizon I turned round and caught a brief look through the blind windows of the deck-lounge: people drinking, gambling, watching TV. I suddenly realised how ridiculous this artificial world must be compared to the mighty dimensions of only a small planet’s nature. The attempt to build a world denying every fact existing since the universe’s big-bang-birth has to fail, since there is no coexistence. Horror thinking of a man-built world, sadness caused by his ability to destroy but only soft melancholy because nobody will be there to watch the blue planet’s wonders after mankind has gone.
