Travelogue Tanzania 2009
Programme Day 3 – Tarangire National Park

A whole day game drive to Tarangire National Park, again we see many elephants. For lunch we can leave our vehicle the first time, there are special picknick places, here we can eat our packed lunch. Close to us there are elephants, the grass looks like a perfect place for snakes and from the trees huge ticks fall down on us. It was great, apart from the ticks, but luckily they did not bite us.

Tarangire National Park - picknick close to elephants
What a marvelous place for a picknick. Elephants in the background and hopefully no lions hidden in the grass.
Tarangire National Park - big orange tick
The ticks were less romantic.

This day was probably our Monkey Day, we stood for ages watching them.

Tarangire National Park - Two adult Anubis baboons and a baby delousing eachother.
family delousing (Anubis baboons)
Tarangire National Park - A group of Green monkeys sitting on a tree and starring towards us.
Who is watching whom? (Green monkeys)
Tarangire River Camp - Green monkey sitting on our jeep.
As many tourists feed the monkeys they are not afraid at all.
